Margaret is a Senior Consultant who brings deep experience in professional services strategy and service quality improvement. For nine years she was Vice President for Quality Management and Director of Service Quality for Fidelity Brokerage Services. She also spent four years as Director of Customer Relations for Tufts Health Plan. Margaret has worked with a broad range of service and manufacturing companies developing customer service and retention strategies.

Since 1985, Coburn Consulting has been providing planning and management services to medium and larger sized law firms. Our areas of practice include strategic/long-range planning, competitive positioning and strategy, organizational and leadership development, practice group planning and management, profitability enhancement, client satisfaction measurement/enhancement, and law firm mergers and acquisitions.

Someone once commented, “There are two kinds of lawyers – those who dislike change, and those who absolutely hate it.” We understand this reluctance to change and have focused our practice on helping law firms through the challenging process of initiating and managing change.

: To be credible, planning must be championed - and led - by the firm’s governing body. Ideally, the process should be conducted within the context of both a mission and vision that are clearly articulated and widely communicated by the leadership body to all members of the firm. To provide the proper context, some firms elect to develop a firm wide “umbrella” vision and goals statement prior to undertaking practice group planning.
