Established in 1974, COMPASS has educated, guided and counseled more than 10,000 children and youth. Using a team approach, experienced professionals from diverse backgrounds annually serve over 250 children, adolescents and families through our educational and community-based family support programs, and professionals nationwide through our consulting services. COMPASS offers youth who have faced extraordinary personal challenges a range of educational services, practical skills and hope for their future. In the early 1980s we pioneered the first short-term crisis intervention services in Boston. Akin to a "M.A.S.H." unit, our intake process enables staff to reach students in crisis, evaluate the educational and clinical needs of the child and begin to provide intensive services.
