Description
The purpose of our company is to assist you in your quest to understand the nature of conflict and to assist your organization in resolving conflict related issues. We provide arbitration and mediation services around the nation.
: Family Mediation Canada is an interdisciplinary association of lawyers, social workers, human services and health care professionals, working together, creating a better way to provide for co-operative conflict resolution relating to separation and divorce, adoption, child welfare, wills and estates, parent/teen counseling, organizations, etc. FMC was established in 1985 as a charitable, not-for-profit association under the Canada Corporations Act.
Additionally, she has done extensive public speaking on a wide range of topics, including conflict resolution and negotiation strategy. She has substantial experience in managing mass tort claims class action settlements, is a full-time mediator and arbitrator with JAMS, and was formerly a mediator and an arbitrator for the AAA for 12 years. She has also taught mediation and arbitration law and skills to other lawyers.
Control over the outcome -- No judge sitting on high in a black nightgown will decide the fate of your dispute. No jury of your peers will be holding your future in their hands. You have the unique opportunity to "tell your side of the story", without lawyers objecting that what you're saying is inadmissible for some reason. You, along with the mediator, can have the experience of "building a bridge" to your opposition, essentially crafting your own resolution for your dispute.
5) Ability to complete resolution: A great mediator is a "scrapper" who adheres to the premise that impasse is nothing but illusion. Rather than viewing the illusion of impasse as a reality, she views it as the watershed that will produce movement from a supposed stalemate to complete resolution, with the assistance of her professional techniques.
