Leaving Humancode in 2000, Avila created his first DBA, Dementia7.com and set to work full-time on his feature projects. Meeting with Tony Hobdy in fall 2001, they created the company Dementia7 Studios llc. in order to produce and develop Avila's extensive list of feature projects. Their first, D7Peacemaker - Stage1, had a fantastic premier at A-Kon 13 in Dallas, TX on June 1, 2002, filling the presentation hall twice. Following the premier Stage1 enjoyed a remarkable run in local retail stores and due to the style, developed interest among larger public distributors and local theaters.
