Delta Health Alliance raises money from private foundations, corporations and individuals because the demands we face in the Delta are greater than the money available from federal grants. In addition, federal grants come with many restrictions. For example, a nurse practioner in one of our clinics may need to provide a certain kind of drug to an indi- gent patient, the reimbursement for which is not allowed by the federal grant that supports the clinic.
