An Ultrasound or Sonography, is a radiology procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves that echo off the body to create a picture. An ultrasound can be used to examine various organs in the body, including the abdomen, liver, pancreas and appendix. An ultrasound is also used for viewing blood flow through the body’s vessels, imaging the breasts, and OB imaging. It is non-invasive and involves no radiation.
Mammography is a specific type of imaging that uses a low-dose x-ray system for examination of the breasts and is used to aid in the diagnosis of breast diseases in women. Delta Imaging houses a state-of-the-art low dose film screen mammography system. The Radiologist will review the mammogram at the time of exam. If the radiologist detects an area that requires additional testing, these additional tests can be performed the same day. Our mammography services are treated with your interest in mind.
A CT scan, or computerized axial tomography scan is an x-ray procedure which combines x-ray images with the aid of a computer to generate cross-sectional views and, if needed, three dimensional images of the internal organs and structures of the body. A CT scan is a safe, painless and quick exam. Most commonly, CT scans are performed to analyze the head, spine, chest or abdomen and are extremely helpful in detecting cancer, infection, abnormal anatomy, changes of the body from trauma and many other conditions.
An MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan uses magnetic and low energy radiowaves to produce a series of pictures of your head, spine, or other parts of your body. Our short bore MRI is a powerful magnet which provides a high level of image quality, while reducing discomfort or claustrophobia. What makes a short bore MRI different from a conventional MRI is that part of the body remains outside of the machine on most exams, decreasing patient anxiety. The exam usually takes 15 minutes.
