Over the past year the board has diligently focused on our mission: To Advance Dorchester County Through Educating, Promoting and growing a Strong Business Community. Over the past year under the great leadership of Paul Brant, we have worked on hearing what this mission means to you. I would like to let all members know that we heard what was said in the 2013 survey, and we are creating avenues to better meet the needs of our members. 2014 is the Year of the Member . We are focusing on ways to provide even more value for your Chamber membership.

Our office is committed to providing thorough, comprehensive eye care in a modern and comfortable environment. It is our goal to exceed your expectations and to serve all of your eye care needs in a caring and friendly manner. Our use of the most current technology, the training and experience of our staff, and the availability of a wide range of products and services combine to promote and achieve a standard of excellence.

In 1981, Steve opened The Drug Store in Hurlock and has enjoyed having the opportunity to serve the North Dorchester area with a community pharmacy for over 30 years. A graduate of the University of MD School of Pharmacy, Steve began his college education after graduation from Delmar High first with the University of Delaware and then Salisbury State before attending Maryland. Professionally he is President of the Eastern Shore Pharmaceutical Society, is active in the Maryland Pharmacist Assoc. being recognized with the Bowl of Hygeia Award in 2008.

Hurlock was incorporated in 1892 and is the second largest municipality in Dorchester County. Because of its excellent rail transportation network that carried both passengers and products to major destinations, Hurlock became the industrial and commercial hub in the northern part of Dorchester County. It still holds this position, as is reflected in its motto “On track…since 1892.” Hurlock has numerous smaller businesses related to food and poultry products, trucking and other manufacturing.
