Description

Mission statement: East Bay Community Recovery Project's mission is to support the well being of the community by providing substance abuse, mental health and other health related services. We respect and encourage the strengths of individuals and families, and their ability to make healthier choices. History: East Bay Community Recovery Project is a non-profit drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. We have provided substance abuse treatment and relapse prevention programs in Alameda County since 1989. We currently have two locations, one in Oakland and one in Hayward. EBCRP's organizational philosophy is captured in the following statement, made by our Executive Director, Joan Ellen Zweben, Ph.D.: "We have a broad view of our mission; successful treatment has effects which expand outward. The recovering person needs to take responsibility for his or her own life, and also join in creating a new social environment. Staff and clients join in this task, influencing our families, neighborhoods, and the urban area around us."
