The Eastern Shore Safe Kids Coalition is a non-profit organization dedicated solely to the prevention of unintentional injuries to children ages 0-14. The Eastern Shore coalition was established in 1989 by Eastern Shore Rural Health System, Inc. as the lead organization, and consists of over 30 members representing local organizations that are working together to combat the #1 killer of our children - preventable injuries!

Should have experience with chronic disease management and an interest working with an elderly population.

ESRHS offers health education as a free service to all of our patients. Our health educators who would be happy to talk with you about your asthma, diabetes, weight loss, smoking cessation and more. Health educators can also provide seminars for businesses or come to your company to provide Flu shots. Please contact any of our centers to schedule an appointment with a health educator or for more information.

Children who are read to in the first years of life are much more likely to learn to read on schedule. Reach Out and Read is a national, non-profit organization founded in 1989 at Boston City Hospital. ESRHS doctors and nurses encourage parents to read aloud to their young children and offer age-appropriate tips. Every child between the ages of 6 months and five years who is coming in for a well-child visit is given a new, developmentally appropriate children's book to take home and keep.
