From 1994 to 2000, John served as the New England Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where he directed the operations of 800 employees and a $400 million annual budget. Under his leadership EPA New England was recognized as a national leader in smart growth, regulatory reform, environmental technology, and brownfields development, winning more awards for successful reform than any other EPA office. His previous public service includes serving as the Secretary of the Environment for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Chairman of the Board of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority. John holds an MPA from Harvard University and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania. Brownfields Recovery Corporation Founded in 1996, Brownfields Recovery Corporation ( www.brownfields-recovery.com ) is a real estate investment and development firm focused exclusively on environmentally impacted properties. BRC acquires, remediates, and redevelops brownfield sites and manages the financial and legal risks inherent in these properties. BRC also works with property owners to transfer the environmental risks associated with their sites, offering them a definitive liability endpoint while allowing them to maintain control of the property. Eli Levine is Vice President of Acquisitions for BRC and has been with the firm since its inception. Mr. Levine is experienced in assessing the value of contaminated properties and the damages to a property resulting from contamination, and in determining feasible means of undertaking remediation to maximize property value. Bridging the gap between environmental studies and real estate applications, Mr. Levine is able to address property contamination issues realistically, with an understanding of the issues from the market-based real estate perspective. Greencrest Group LLC Greencrest Group is a Vermont-based consulting and investment firm focused on both the equity and debt aspects of real estate development and operation.
