In 1955, six local businessmen founded First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Pascagoula-Moss Point for the purpose of originating mortgage loans and providing insured savings products for residents of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. First Federal was the first Federally Chartered Savings and Loan Association in Jackson County.
