We're a family-owned and operated architectural lighting manufacturer headquartered near downtown Chicago, with sales and distribution via independent lighting agents throughout the U.S. and Canada. Focal Point was founded in 1994 by Peter Thornton, Sr. and family. The Thorntons are no strangers to the lighting business. In fact, Peter brings over 30 years of industry experience to the management of Focal Point, having previously owned and successfully operated Fail-Safe Lighting. The Company has grown rapidly in its first few years, having launched a number of unique products that have gained wide acceptance among architects, lighting designers and contractors. From recessed indirect and suspended linear systems to pendants and sconces, Focal Point offers a variety of fluorescent lighting solutions for commercial, institutional, educational, retail and other types of spaces.
