Founded in February 2001 by two of Houston's largest independent insurance brokerage firms, Focus Insurance & Financial Services is an alliance of the personal insurance departments of Insurance Alliance and Brady, Chapman, Holland & Associates, Inc.. With strong, professional backgrounds in their own attributes, these "parent" companies set the standard for Focus Insurance's dedication to being the best in the industry. Insurance Alliance (IA) was formed in 1992 by the merger of four insurance agencies, each with deep Houston roots: Houstoun, Woodard & Associates Inc; Danvers, Eason & Gentle Insurance Agents, Inc.; A.M. Tomforde & Co., Inc.; and D.L. Anderson & Company. The merger formed one of the largest privately owned agencies in the country, known today as Insurance Alliance. They are a member of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America as a Best Practices agent and have been listed as a "Top 100" agency as per the Insurance Journal. With a current staff of over 80 proficient, talented individuals, IA is an established respected force in the industry. Likewise, Brady Chapman Holland & Associates (BCH), formed in 1983, is also one of the largest privately owned independent insurance brokerage and risk management consulting firms in the Southwest.
