Fort Lee Directorate Family and Morale , Welfare and Recreation Marketing Fort Lee's Directorate Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) is a center for Army FMWR excellence. FMWR exists to enhance the quality of life, enrich living and working environments, and foster a sense of community for Soldiers, Family members and civilians. We give back to our Soldiers a quality of life that they have pledged to defend for us all. As an integral part of military life, FMWR provides Soldiers and their Families with many fitness, entertainment and family support outlets. Many of the events, programs and services offered at Fort Lee would not be possible without the contributions from local, regional, national and international companies and organizations, community businesses and patriotic citizens that we receive yearly. As one of the installation organizations in the Department of Defense, the Fort Lee FMWR program is a values-based organization, which focuses on training while providing high quality service to a growing and increasingly diverse population of Soldiers, Families and civilians.

The CYS Services program at Fort Lee is comprised of 4 delivery systems: Child Development Services (CDS), School-Age Care (SAC), Youth Program (YP), Sports & Fitness (S&F), Parent and Outreach Services and School Support Services. The CYS Services program enhances readiness by reducing the conflict between soldiers' parental responsibilities and their on-the-job mission requirements. It facilitates family self-reliance and reinforces Army values by providing predictable services for eligible children and youth 4 weeks to 18 years of age. The CDS delivery system is comprised of facility-based care in 4 child development centers and home-based care in government quarters and off post private housing (Family Child Care). The School-Age delivery system offers programs outside the normal school hours for children generally in 1st-5th grades. Youth Programs offer both regularly scheduled programming and drop-in options for middle school youth and teens (generally 6th-12th grades). Sports & Fitness offers health and fitness programs, to include team and individual sports.

Located in the heart of Central Virginia, the Fort Lee Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of every Fort Lee Soldier, Family Member, Retiree and DOD Civilian.

Though Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers was founded in 1989 for the benefit of the more than half of all US Soldiers who are single, these days the program welcomes all Soldiers - all ranks and ages - as well as authorized Family and MWR patrons, including civilians. BOSS members participate in a number of exciting activities, including trips, and they benefit from various discounts and free passes to shows and sporting events. Of course, they're well known in the community, on post and off, for the many hours they devote to volunteering.

Get ready to go to the next level! Family and MWR Sports invites you to burn off those extra calories with our Boot Camp fitness classes. Combat that mid-day slump or amp up your evening! Boot Camp focuses on improving your total body fitness levels and consists of high repetition, high intensity routines designed to develop definition by training the entire body, heart and muscles. Classes involve calisthenics like push-ups, jumping jacks, crunches, squats and other body weight exercises in a 45/60-minute session. Join a class now! Open to all fitness levels.
