Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce

, was founded in 1796 by General William C. Schenck. The city and township are home to approximately 27,800 residents. Of these, nearly 11,400 live within the city limits.

Franklin was incorporated in 1814 and assumed city status in 1951. The city operates under a council-manager form of government, with seven at-large council members elected on a non-partisan basis to four-year terms. The council elects one of its members as mayor.

Founded in 1976, WCCC is accredited by North Central and offers students many opportunities to earn industry certifications needed in the workplace. WCCC serves approximately 8,000 adult students each year.
