Florida Transportation Engineering, Inc. (FTE) was founded in 1989 by the late Nanette E. Hall, P.E. Since then, FTE has grown to a staff of 33 professionals, technicians, and support staff. FTE has offices in Punta Gorda and Miami, Tallahassee, and Tampa. FTE's initial services, were in the areas of traffic engineering, transportation planning, and data collection. FTE has now developed into a full service civil engineering firm offering services in roadway and bridge design, traffic operations design, traffic monitoring site design, Intelligent Transportation Systems, weigh-in-motion (WIM) technology, and construction engineering inspection (CEI). FTE's organizational structure was developed with emphasis on the Project Manager as the key element in the organization. Project Managers are supported by the principles-in-charge, department managers, engineering, technical, and administrative staff. This structure gives the FTE's Project Manager more control over resources and focuses other support staff on a single goal to complete projects and with the highest quality product possible on time, under budget. Over the years, FTE has developed a large client and partner base. Our staff's experience with different clients, consultants, and a variety of projects gives us the advantage of a broader view of projects and how they relate to other factors.
