The founders of GeneEd had more than 15 years of relevant industry and teaching experience when they formed GeneEd in 1997. Using their experience at Brandeis University, Caltech, Stanford University, Cell Genesys, Roche Bioscience, Doubletwist.com and other life science companies, Dr. Sunil Maulik and Dr. Salil Patel had previously delivered a series of live seminars for scientists, investors, attorneys and informed consumers. The challenge of GeneEd was to create technologies that could be used to transform scientific content into interactive, web based e-learning courses that retained the best elements of a "live event".Using our existing content as a starting point, we created a "Repurposing Engine™" (patent pending) that transforms static content into dynamic animations, voiceovers and other aids to enhance the learning experience. Using this proprietary technology, we are able to create learning objects from our "Viewing Engine™" (patent pending) that serve as the foundation from which all of our e-learning courses, navigation tools, and customized user interfaces are created.As the eLearning and eMarketing industries matured, GeneEd remained at the forefront of the pharmaceutical and healthcare training field by bringing together content experts with our in-house scientists and some of the brightest instructional designers. Together, their experience and knowledge have allowed for rapid gap analysis at client sites, innovative approaches to learning, and deployment of appropriate training and marketing tools.
