Description

When a community comes together, good things happen! For generations the Grove City Community Library has played a central role in meeting the reading, learning, and personal enrichment needs in our community. Thanks to a loving and caring community of people dedicated to the purpose of our library we have been able to grow and provide for the increased needs of youth programming, technology, and both educational and recreational reading material for the community. In order to continue to meet the growing needs of our community and future generations we need to expand. Right now we have an extraordinary opportunity to add 2,657 square feet of space to our existing library. A firm has been retained to coordinate the construction and design details are presently being worked out by an architect. We hope to break ground in June 2010, with completion slated for October. This increase in space will provide: * Increased computer access for the public * Meeting room for children's and young adult events as well as for book discussion groups * Quiet study/reading areas with adequate outlets for Wi-Fi users * Additional shelf space for collection growth * Adequate space for current and future staff On January 7, 2010 the joint application from the Borough of Grove City and Grove City Community Library for a Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund matching grant was approved up to $489,985. We need the help of our loyal patrons and supporters to raise $277,000 in order to receive the the full amount of the grant. We hope that you will be willing to help! More than $122,00 has been donated thus far – but we need you to reach our goal! Support Growing For Generations! Click here to Donate!
