Description

Beth Prevor As a co-founder and Executive Director of Hands On, Beth Prevor has over 28 years of experience in the field of disability with a focus on Deaf and hard of hearing populations. At Hands On, she has produced more than 500 sign-interpreted productions at the Roundabout, New Victory and Public Theatres as well as the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Radio City Music Hall and Central Park, among others.

Over the last 27 years, Hands On has worked with some of the best interpreters in the business. These individuals have set a standard of excellence that is unsurpassed in the field of theatrical interpreting and have made New York City the premiere city for Sign Interpreted Performances.

Hands On was founded in 1982 with 4 individuals, a small group of names for a mailing list and a first season that was comprised of 6 interpreted performances. Currently Hands On’s general mailing list is over 2500 with a subscription base of more than 950 and an active Web page that generates input from Deaf people locally and around the world. We average over 20-30 interpreted productions a year, including Bway and Off Bway, and a theater program for young people in colloboration with The New Victory Theatre.
