Arnold and Evelyn Higgins founded Higgins Funeral Home in 1949 at the current East Grand Avenue location. Both were licensed funeral directors, Evelyn being one of the first female licensed funeral directors in the state. They shared fully in all operations of the business. Sons Jim and John joined the business in 1968 and 1972, respectively.The business has undergone many changes over the decades, including several additions and renovations. Their facility provides a modern, comfortable setting, designed with the convenience of families in mind. The vision of Jim and John remains the same as Arnold's and Evelyn's – a family business to meet families’ needs.
