Today, the company continues to provide extended business office and bad debt recovery services to hospitals in Texas, Oklahoma, and South Carolina. Just as it has been for over 50 years, we are committed to providing superior customer service to our hospital partners and to our patients. We are dedicated to the highest of recoveries, while maintaining the patients’ dignity and relationship with the provider.

Since 1956, Hospital Receivables Service, Inc. and its subsidiary Medical Debt Management have been providing valuable receivables management services to hospitals and physician groups in Texas, Oklahoma and South Carolina. Our mission is to assist our clients in increasing patient pay revenues, reducing bad debt and providing superior customer service. We provide the "Human Touch" to our collection process by personalizing the communications with each patient.

In order to provide "full service" collections to our customers, HRS established a new company that would provide extended collections beyond the early out phase. In 1977, a wholly owned subsidiary under the name United States Credit Association began providing bad debt collection services. The name was later changed to Medical Debt Management, Inc. (MDM) in 1996.

Prior to joining HRS in January 2012, Barbara held the position of VP Revenue Cycle Manager for two large national healthcare corporations. She began her career in healthcare with HealthSouth Corporation and was promoted up to the VP National Business Office Director position in Birmingham, Alabama in 2005. She was directly responsible for the daily operations of the revenue cycle with accounts receivables over $300 million and average daily collections of $1.8 million. Shortly after leaving HealthSouth she took a position as the VP Revenue Cycle Manager for Diagnostic Health Corporation.

Founded in 1956 as a receivables management company under the name Professional Men’s Association (PMA), the company was a pioneer in providing early out billing and extended business office services to hospitals. Our philosophy was simple: treat all patients with dignity, respect and compassion.
