Over the next several weeks I will begin researching and evaluating a concept called Agile Learning Design. The agile process is used by software and web application developers for years, and is now starting to build momentum in project management and instructional design. ( http://www.brandon-hall.com/workplacelearningtoday/?p=3131 ) As a web developer, I have had opportunity to use and facilitate the Agile process. As an instructional designer, I’m intrigued about using this very efficient tool for instructional design and development. Conceptually, Agile differs from ADDIE in that it allows for a modeling process (see image), and since the lifecycle of designing and developing learning is a continuous process, it stands to reason that Agile would be more applicable.
