Steve Kalalian and Janet Mayfield founded Impact Digital in 1991 as a two-person graphic design firm serving the Fashion and Photography industries. The company initially designed and produced a range of promotional materials including books, catalogues, and identity systems. As their client list grew, Impact Digital moved to its current SOHO location in 1996 and shifted all retouching and pre-press work in-house. By 1998, Impact Digital established itself as a top retouching and pre-press company providing full services including drum scanning, high-end retouching, proofing and ad releases. Impact Digital is now considered the leading super-boutique retouching company and is recognized in continual press coverage and industry awards. The company has 40 employees and occupies 15,000 sq. ft.
