Color correction, color grading, and digital intermediate (DI) are terms that refer to the process of conforming your project back to the original camera negatives (film or digital) and creatively altering the look of the project. This step is one of the most important steps in finishing your film by enhancing or changing the colors within each shot to help tell the story better, dial in the DP and director's looks from set, match shots, and fix any problematic color/exposures.
The dailies process is where all the camera footage is sync'd with the sound files and output via web, DVD, or other lightweight viewing mediums. During this process, one-light color corrections can be applied, avid projects prepared for editors, and online/offline files generated. Dailies are important for a project of any size. Knowing exactly how every shot turns out immendiately is invaluable to your production.
