InfoSynthesis & Organization was formed in 2004 to meet the on-going needs of education agencies in the development and maintenance of their management information systems in terms of collection, documentation, and reporting. After the No Child Left Behind Act became law, many states began the process of building statewide student-level data systems which required drastically different ways of viewing, collecting, storing, and sharing data. In response to questions from many states (often the same across states), Dr. Nancy Smith formed InfoSynthesis to assist education agencies in enhancing their information systems and sharing information and lessons learned with each other.
