Description
The Inn at the Canal is known locally as the Brady-Rees house. Built in 1868, the Brady-Rees house is listed on the Maryland and National Historic Registers. The Bradys owned and operated a fleet of tugboats that traveled the canal, and as such were a successful part of this waterfront community. History has it that Mr. & Mrs. Brady were the proud parents of two daughters; but Henry Brady promised his wife a new, grand home should she present him with a son. This lovely home was built as a result of that fulfilled promise, and many of the fine architectural and decorative details remain.
