Vinod founded VTLS Inc. in 1985 and served as President & CEO from the incorporation of the company. Previously he had served Virginia Tech in many capacities, most recently as Vice President of Computing and Information Systems. In this capacity he coordinated Computing, Software Development and University Libraries and managed the development of the original VTLS software. Vinod is an internationally recognized lecturer and consultant in the field of information system planning and has been active in the library profession for more than 30 years.

Jay Shankar has over 20 years experience in the technology industry and has displayed strong leadership throughout her career in the areas of customer support and engineering. With extensive experience in the management of R&D and support functions, she brings her unique perspective and strategic vision to create high-performance working groups, and uses creative and measurable methods to boost customer satisfaction. Most recently, Jay served as Vice President of Customer Support at BMC Software.

Founded in 1978, Innovative’s first product illustrated the origin of the company’s name by providing a revolutionary and timesaving software solution for bibliographic record processing. (For the history buffs: Innovative provided an interface that allowed libraries to download OCLC bibliographic records into a CLSI circulation system without re-keying.) After securing the first “black box” installations at CSU Sacramento and UC Riverside, Innovative’s customer base grew quickly and set the company on a path to success.
