JBidWatcher

Description

A Java-based application allowing you to monitor auctions you're not part of, submit bids, snipe (bid at the last moment), and otherwise track your auction-site experience. It includes adult-auction management, MANY currencies (pound, dollar (US, Canada, Australian, and New Taiwanese) and euro, presently), drag-and-drop of auction URLs, an original, unique and powerful 'multisniping' feature, a relatively nice UI, and is known to work cleanly under Linux, Windows, Solaris, and MacOSX from the same binary. Please do not re-sell the JBidwatcher program or code. JBidwatcher is under active development, and issues are reasonably quickly responded to. Bug reports and feature requests are always welcome, as are praise and complaints. Always feel free to make suggestions or report bugs . If you'd like to know a bit about some of the advanced configuration settings that are not yet available from the configuration UI, you can look at my guide to the configuration file format . It is slightly out of date, as recent releases have added a wealth of tuning configuration parameters. News Flash (September 27, 2010) — JBidwatcher 2.1.2 (pre-baby edition) is available Thanks to the help of tidris and others in the bug-tracking site, I’ve fixed drag-and-drop, the display problems, and improved the My eBay scraping code in this version. This also should fix a few other problems, like auctions never getting moved to complete, although they’ll still be a little slow. (They should move by about a minute or two after the end of the auction.) Also, unless a major problem comes up, this is likely to be the last version I put out before my second child is born (due date October 6th, but likely to be early), so I’ll be a little less responsive than usual for about a month while I focus on my wife, our newborn, and making my toddler not feel like he’s being supplanted. :) I’ll likely post something here and/or on the forums and my blog when the baby comes. I’ll be trying to keep an ear out for serious bugs until then, and responding to folks as best I can. Of special note in this version is a prototype of code that exposes a mDNS (Bonjour, ZeroConf, etc.) service that can synchronize data from a running JBidwatcher, if you give it permission. There are no public clients for this code yet, but I’m working on one. Enjoy this version, and I wish you the best of luck with your auctions, and everything else! format
