KEYTIME was established in 1987 by Linda Lewis, then a computer teaching specialist with Seattle schools. Applying an in-depth understanding of scientific learning theory, Ms. Lewis developed the KEYTIME method, which enables students to learn key locations in just one hour and then rapidly increase their skills for speed and accuracy. KEYTIME-A Faster Method Because it enables learners to become productive much faster than traditional training methods, the KEYTIME program is used in businesses, homes, and in public and private schools throughout the United States and the world. KEYTIME is one of the only companies in the world to teach touch-typing on alternative keyboard layouts, in addition to the standard Qwerty keyboard layout. Ms. Lewis and KEYTIME have been instrumental in making alternative keyboards available to the general public by working as an advisor to the ANSI Standards Board and working with Microsoft to incorporate the alternative layouts in both DOS and Windows platforms. Linda D. Lewis – Executive Biography Linda Lewis, the founder and President of KEYTIME, received her Masters in Education from the University of Washington in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in Computers in Education. With her extensive classroom experience and intensive training in learning theory, she has been able to identify the critical elements that lead to effective teaching. She is called on as an expert by occupational therapists and vocational rehabilitation counselors to assess and train people from a wide variety of backgrounds and situations. Her focus on ergonomics and alternative access has brought her recognition as an innovator in the computing arena. Her seminars and workshops for educators have been presented throughout the United States and in Canada and Europe.
