After working metal in Europe for 6 generations, the Knapps of The Knapp Foundry Company migrated to the United States. They worked in foundries in Buffalo, New York for 2 more generations. In 1910, with the birth of the rubber industry, the present Knapp Foundry Company was began in Akron, Ohio. Today, the foundry is operating at the same location under the management of the fourth and fifth generations of the original founders. Our foundry plant personnel have many years of practical experience with our company producing castings of various complexities and design.

The Knapp Foundry Company uses its experience and technology in supplying superior castings to its customers. Commissioning skilled local pattern makers, Knapp Foundry Company can transform the original drawing into a quality-finished product. Pattern services offered are the repairing and refurbishing of your exiting patterns to the manufacture of new wood patterns or for a one-time use, polystyrene patterns. State-of-the-art, coreless induction furnaces are utilized to consistently produce high caliber gray and ductile irons.
