Emblem Shortage GM has discontinued the OEM blue bowtie emblems needed to make SSLEDs on blue backgrounds (emblems). I was able to get a few from Chevy dealers with 1 or 2 left in stock. SSLEDs on blue emblems will be unavailable after these are gone. I'd like to share a mod that I did to the Red Bow Tie (RBT) in the front grille on my 1996 Impala SS. Originally know as the Nightstalker bowtie, I later named it the SSLED after the LEDs involved and the SS it was made for. I first showed the hand-made red prototype in May 1998 at the Super Chevy Show in Epping, NH and later at the Lebanon Valley Dragway (LVD) near Albany, NY. It's now been 11 years and there are a number of these spread across the USA. It attracts considerable attention at night and on cloudy days and I often see pedestrians and the passengers in other cars pointing at it. The SSLED lighted bowtie has received exposure at local car shows and at LVD, GM Carlisle, E-TOWN and a few Impala national and regional events. I'd like to suggest that a SSLED lighted bow tie might be just the thing to call attention to your 94-96 Impala SS or 9C1 with Impala grille. Although pictures don't do it justice, here are a couple of photos: At first I resisted the concept of sharing, preferring to have a unique mod. But many friends who saw the prototype liked it and expressed interest in having one of their own. The "Interested List" was started in October 1998 to gauge public interest. The SSLED went public in January 2000 and there is no longer a need for a waiting list except for special LED or special emblem colors. Red and Blue SSLEDs are usually in stock. SSLEDs with Green, Amber or White SSLEDs may be in stock or may not, depending on the emblem color you order. I try to keep a couple of the most popular combinations. If I don't have your combination in stock, I will make it to order for you and deliver in about 3 weeks.
