We are LABRE (pronounced labor) Crop Consulting, Inc. an independent crop consulting firm located in the farming community of Manson, Iowa. Started by LuAnn (LA) and Brent (BRE) Johnson the company began as an independent soil sampling and consulting service for farmers. Our vision is to provide a service to the farmer that is non-biased and kept private. Today this vision has grown the company and has us working across state lines while our clients take comfort in knowing we are not profiting from selling fertilizer, seed, chemicals or data.

Some times a producer only utilizes a part of the precision puzzle (such as planter logging) or just wants one of our services. Below is an outline of each of our products and what they involve. If there isn't anything listed that you are looking for - don't worry. We often work customized solutions for growers that can't exactly be defined. So if you need anything data related, contact us and we will work up a customized solution for your operation.

You might see Eric pulling samples, installing equipment or working around the office. All of us feel very fortunate to have Eric on our team and we know our customers will also enjoy working with him.

In an increasing trend many producers are adding yet another control to their planter – the hydraulic drive. Coupled with spatial prescriptions we can now plant a target prescription for every square foot of the field. However, every producer must ask – is it necessary to change this population for every square foot? This is essentially the question posed for many before they started GPS soil sampling. But many agree that fertilizer can be found deficient or in surplus by sampling and remedied through variable rate (VRT) applications.
