Description

Each subject is reflected in the organization of the classroom. In each area materials are carefully prepared and sequenced. Children receive individual lessons based on their interest and readiness, thus progressing at their own rate from simple to more complex tasks.

Three important components of the curriculum that are not directly reflected in the room or the materials are independence, choice and etiquette. We enable the children to develop their need for independence and making choices by encouraging children to do things for themselves, instead of relying on adults to do things for them. This requires practice. By completing tasks by him/herself, the child gains a sense of control and competence that will help him/her to become active, self-confident members of society.
