Since it was founded in 1982, MIG has focused on planning, designing and sustaining environments that support human development. We embrace inclusivity and encourage community and stakeholder interaction in all of our projects. For each endeavor — in planning, design, management, communications or technology — our approach is strategic, context-driven and holistic, addressing social, political, economic and physical factors to ensure our clients achieve the results they want.

Public and private organizations of all types face a myriad of challenges limited resources and shifting economic and social factors. MIG works closely with clients to strategically focus resources, solve problems, and build capacity and consensus to support action. We provide a range of services including management consulting, organizational re-structuring, process improvement, team building, conflict resolution and decision support. MIG works with city managers, city councils, corporations, county executives, boards, managers and department heads, and staff at all levels.

MIG is a woman-owned corporation in the State of California, founded in 1982. Our headquarters is in Berkeley, California, with branch offices in Pasadena, Fullerton, Davis and Riverside, California; Eugene and Portland, Oregon; and Raleigh, North Carolina.

CJ Davis, a community planner and designer in MIG’s Riverside Office, served as Project Manager for the Design Guidelines project. Since joining the firm in 2002, CJ has worked with communities across California to incorporate smart growth principles and sustainability concepts in projects ranging from policy documents to conceptual designs.

MIG specializes in professional services to support initiatives that improve childcare, child development, child welfare, mental health, substance abuse prevention, public welfare, public health, juvenile justice and social equity. MIG has familiarity with and understanding of issues, policies and operations associated with children, youth and family services through direct work with clients at the local, regional, state and national level. We provide strategic planning and implementation support, communications, organizational development, policy planning and environmental design services.
