Brian F. Dacey is founder, owner and principal of Main Street Development Group. The company owns, manages, and consults on various commercial and residential real estate development projects, hospitality facilities, property management contracts, and public/private partnerships. For 12 years prior to founding Main Street, Mr. Dacey was Executive Vice President of The Drew Company, a Boston based commercial development and management company, where he managed a large portfolio of diverse real estate and hospitality related projects: Direction of the feasibility, site control, planning and permitting process for the waterfront development of 1.3 million square feet at the World Trade Center Boston. This complex included a 427 room hotel (opened in 1998), and two high-rise office buildings (opened in 2000 and 2002). The Drew Company is a partner with Fidelity Investments in the World Trade Center Boston complex. Oversight of the day-to-day real estate operations of the World Trade Center Boston, an 850,000 square foot mixed-use office/conference/exhibition facility on the South Boston waterfront. Responsibilities included property management, capital improvement projects, leasing and event operations management. Representation of a major Boston bank on a 1,000 acre site planning exercise; feasibility analysis of a themed waterfront visitor attraction; and management of site planning, design and permitting for the expansion of Great Woods Center for the Performing Arts, Mansfield, Massachusetts (now the Tweeter Center). Prior to his Drew Company experience, Mr. Dacey spent five years as Executive Vice President of Combined Properties, a manager and developer of office and industrial properties in the Greater Boston area. Mr. Dacey entered the private real estate industry after five years as Chief Executive of the City of Boston’s Economic Development agency, the Economic Development Corporation of Boston (EDIC), where he oversaw a 190 acre waterfront development that encompassed 3.3 million square feet of space. He also managed various public financing programs including the Development Bond Authority and the Boston Local Development Corporation. Mr. Dacey is active in a number of professional and community organizations. He is a former Director and Board Chairman of Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries, a member of the Boston College Real Estate and Finance Council, The Urban Land Institute, National Association of Office and Industrial Properties, Lambda Alpha (Honorary Land Economics Society), and he currently serves as Vice President of the Trustees for The Boston Harbor Association. Mr. Dacey has an undergraduate degree from Boston College, and a Masters in Business Administration from Boston University.
