Description

At Maternity BVM we provide a strong Catholic spiritual environment to allow this to happen - through Eucharist, prayer, education through our School and Religious Education programs, as well as many adult faith formation opportunities. We are today’s disciples of Jesus Christ.

Maternity BVM was established as a mission church of St. Genevieve in 1909. Father James Ryan was appointed the first pastor and the first Mass was celebrated on December 15, 1910. The parish flourished and in September 1911, the school opened with 309 students. Sr. Gertrude Marie, SP was the first principal. The Sisters of Providence have been a part of Maternity B.V.M. Parish since that time. Each weekend, our Parish celebrates 6 liturgies, two in English, three in Spanish and one bi-lingual. Many parishioners serve as lectors, communion ministers and ushers.
