Description
Jun e 16, 2014, Morris, IL – Compassionate, organized, respectful, reliable, intelligent, nice and ambitious. Those are the words used to describe Morris resident Corrina Walker, who was selected as Fire Starter of the Month at Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers for the second time in the past four years.
What do you find most challenging about being a doctor? Dr. Muraskas: Keeping up with the continuous changes in medicine today is very challenging. Treatments and protocols that were the standard of care a few years ago are now outdated, because of the emphasis on evidence-based medicine. After getting Board Certified in 1990, I opted to do my annual re-certification by reading approximately 60 articles and answering 200 questions on a yearly basis. This allows me to keep up with the most current medical management and treatment.
Occupational Medicine Occupational Medicine No matter what type of business you are in, the staff at Morris Hospital's Occupational Medicine Services will work with you to provide services to enhance the health and safety of your employees and work environment.
We gave Dr. Ortinau a selection of questions. Here are the ones he chose, along with his answers: What do you find most challenging about being a doctor? Dr. Ortinau: I think medicine’s biggest challenge is what creates the most excitement for me. The human body is the most complex system ever created. As much as we have come to know throughout the history of medicine, there is still so much we’ve yet to discover. Also, the fact that every individual’s response and outcome to treatment is so very unique is what makes medicine as much of an art as a science.
