MEAN member communities benefit from local control over power supply options. Each MEAN member community has a voting representative and works cooperatively to provide the lowest possible rates and achieve the highest quality of service to their respective end-use customers.
NMPP is dedicated to enhancing local control and ensuring economic stability and guarding public ownership. Our members use creative ways to find solutions. They know they can count on each other as well as NMPP to achieve their goals.
The passage of legislation in 1981 allowed the formation of the Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska (MEAN), a wholesale electric supply organization. NMPP then shifted its focus on providing energy-related services.
