Welcome to OceanLogic OceanLogic is an Alaskan based software development firm established in 1997 that specializes in creating database and geographic information systems (GIS) for the fishery and environmental remediation industries. We create solutions that help track, map and manage marine activities. Examples of our products include the first Electronic Logbook certified by the National Marine Fisheries Service Alaska Region and a sediment sample database that maps data on Super Fund sites. OceanLogic News November 16, 2005 See OceanLogic at the Pacific Marine Expo Come see OceanLogic at booth 546 at the Pacific Marine Expo in Seattle from November 17th through the 19th. Talk to the staff, ask questions and ask for that feature you always wanted. Try a red vine while you are there! November 16, 2005 ELB 2006 Beta 1 posted for download The release version of the new 2006 version of the Electronic Logbook has been posted and is available for download. This new version is designed for fixed gear as well as trawl fisheries. Although it is not yet NMFS approved we are looking for volunteer vessels for January field testing. September 16, 2005 New website update complete The OceanLogic website redesign was completed today. The new site looks great, but better yet, provides downloads of our favorite products and user manuals. In addition users can apply for a product license online. We hope you like the new look! August 10, 2005 Discussions Take Place at IPHC The preview release of the new Electronic Logbook (ELB) was demonstrated at the IPHC office in Seattle. Guidelines were discussed regarding the data needs of the IPHC and how the ELB could accommodate them. The OceanLogic team feels confident of starting regulatory approval of the ELB by the IPHC by October 2005. July 15, 2005 New ELB Preview Demonstrated to NMFS The latest preview release of the new Electronic Logbook was shown to employees of the NMFS Alaska Region in Juneau this week. Attendees were impressed although questions were raised concerning the format of the printed reports and the need to include the International Pacific Halibut Commission before approval could be given to an ELB for fixed gear. January 1, 2005 CatchPoint 2005 Released Early The 2005 version of CatchPoint was released earlier than usual this year. Instead of waiting for the final release of the halibut mortality numbers CatchPoint was updated using the NMFS estimates. Updates with the final numbers will be released at a later date if requierd.
