After a period of active and successful collaboration between COMPASS and Lexecon, our two firms merged on January 1, 2008, creating Compass Lexecon. We now have offices in Chicago, Washington D.C., Cambridge, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, and Tucson. We also expect to open an office in New York in the near future. Our preeminent competition, finance, energy and general litigation practices are now stronger than ever.

Our economists and finance specialists have extensive experience in Latin American economic and regulatory affairs. Our experts have helped draft competition rules, and have testified in international and domestic disputes throughout Latin America. Our experts provide insight into complex contracting disputes, government and regulatory agency standards and reasonable conduct, public policy, competition, private dispute resolution, and environmental economic issues.

International trade disputes often require specialized economic expertise. Compass Lexecon economists have experience in complex international trade cases, providing advice and independent testimony on issues related to international trade and commerce disputes for both domestic and foreign corporations as well as governments.

Compass Lexecon has vast experience in a variety of issues related to Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) litigation on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. We have addressed numerous claims involving alleged breaches of fiduciary duties in ERISA cases, including claims concerning allegations of artificial inflation of stock prices, imprudent investment options, and excessive fees or costs, as well as a variety of damage claims.

Compass Lexecon’s economists provide consulting assistance and testify regularly in securities cases on issues relating to market efficiency, causation, materiality, class certification, and damages. We provide consulting assistance and testimony in tax litigation on issues relating to economic effects, economics substance, risk management, transfer pricing, and valuation.
