Description
PLM International ("PLM") was founded in 1972 as a manager of railcar investments. From 1972 through 1996 it raised over $1.7 billion of equity for investment in railcars, aircraft, marine containers, and shipping vessels. In 1988 PLM was listed on the American Stock Exchange and remained public until 2001 when it was acquired by affiliates of Hera East Holdings. In 2005 PLM sold its railcar leasing business to CIT Group Inc. and its investment program business to an affiliate of AMA Capital Inc .
