Paradise Promotional Services was begun in 1989 as a printing and mailing service to Lancaster, PA area nonprofit organizations, churches, and Christian schools. Initially all printing was brokered through a local, family-owned print shop. But with the opportunity to buy a client's offset duplicator, PPS began in-house printing in 1990. In 1992, at the request of its clients, PPS acquired the capability to do CASS Certification, barcoding, personalized form letters, and advanced database management. As a result, PPS became one of the first vendors in the area to take advantage of new USPS automation options and discounts. Today, PPS, with the help of the owner's family and two employees, provides good quality in-house printing services, brokered printing services for large format jobs, state-of-the-art mailing list certification and processing, and a range of other related services. Having served as an adminstrator, business manager, and promotional advisor in a local Christian school for 14 years, owner Jim Gochnauer is uniquely qualified to understand and appreciate the tension between the need for a strong organizational image in today's Christian marketplace and inevitable budget constraints. By choice, PPS's client base is comprised primarily of nonprofit, evangelical Christian organizations in several states and foreign countries. Less than 10% of our annual volume comes from commercial accounts. PPS services these nonprofit clients by providing good quality services which compete favorably with other vendors at much lower cost.
