Sophisticated software created specifically for Polymorphic DNA rapidly designs optimized oligonucleotide primers for the regions of interest. There is no trial and error in our assay development; the primers are synthesized and then the reactions are ready to be processed. Instrumentation Polymorphic DNA Technologies' DNA analysis lab employs automated high throughput capillary electrophoresis DNA sequencing instruments. Use of these instruments prevents lane to lane sample carryover, a common problem with slab gel DNA sequencing instruments. This type of contamination does not occur with our instruments since the capillaries are self-contained. Template amplification and DNA sequencing reaction setup are performed using high throughput liquid handling robotics.
