By combining our comprehensive assessment, along with our first hand knowledge of schools, we provide accurate and informed recommendations. In most cases, we provide fully coordinated services that combine comprehensive assessment, school placement help and advocacy aspects of educational consulting, under one roof. We are also set up to work collaboratively with other educational consultants, and other specialists, as needed. We are committed to going the extra mile to get to know each family and student on an individual basis in order to make the best possible school recommendations and plans. We are equipped to provide “quick turnaround” assessments/consultation in situations that require prompt attention. Over the decades, we have worked closely with and have first-hand knowledge of the independent school community in the New England area. Many of these schools have asked us to provide consulting, counseling or assessment services either on site at the school or in-house at our office in Cambridge/Boston.

Powell & Wagner Associates is a private consulting psychology practice providing a wide range of psychological assessment and consultation services. We focus primarily in the areas of psychological assessment, neuropsychological assessment, educational consultation, career consultation and school and corporate consultation. Founded in 1966 by former Harvard professor, Douglas Powell, Ed.D., Powell & Wagner Associates has maintained offices in Cambridge Massachusetts, near Harvard Square, for over forty years. In 1998, Karl Wagner, Psy.D. took over the practice and continues to provide superior service and consultation to individuals, families, schools and corporations from the Boston and New England area, nationally and internationally. Over the decades, Powell & Wagner Associates has developed close working relationships with many of the finest public and private schools and esteemed members of the educational and business community.

Powell & Wagner Associates was founded in 1966 and has a long tradition as a premier, boutique assessment and consulting practice in the New England area. Over the years we have developed many strong working relationships with individual clients, many independent and public schools, companies and individuals. We rely on word of mouth referrals for almost all of our business and prefer to maintain a discrete, low-key presence in the greater Boston area. At Powell & Wagner Associates, it is our policy to treat our clients with respect and in the context of warm, friendly, professional working relationships. We do our best to return calls, speak directly with each individual involved and avoid the impersonal feel of more bureaucratic institutions. From my perspective, mental health begins with treating people personally and professionally.
