Don't make the mistake of renting limos based on price! Many limo rental consumers base their decision on one thing; price. In most cases it's a mistake to think you're getting the best limo service by paying the least. Like in many industries, you get what you pay for. For every one established limo company there's 3 illegitimate companies underbidding, running without insurance, or hiring inexperienced chauffeurs. A limousine service is not something you want to gamble on. What happens when you miss your flight, get into an accident with no coverage, or are late to your own wedding? These are things that can and do happen. Please understand that Silk Limousine operates under a professional work atmosphere with all the proper insurance, chauffeurs that undergo extensive experience and road time, and vehicles that are maintained on a regular basis. Silk Limousine Packages All standard limousine packages include a minimum three-hour run on weekends and do not include the industrial standard of 15-20% gratuity paid directly to the driver. Price quotes do not include sales tax. Hourly rates are available from Monday through Thursday. Initial pick-ups in the Chemung County, Corning, Watkins Glen and Waverly area are considered local runs and do not have any additional charges. Outside the area trips are an increase of approximate 20% of the local prices. We do not charge travel time from our office to the initial pick-up location if less than one-and one-half hours away. Anything over this would require a special quote. Gratuity to the driver has an industrial standard of 15-20% and is given to the driver the day of the run very similar to how you would tip a waiter or waitress in a restaurant. Sales tax is not included with our quotes. New York State just implemented an 8% sales tax in June 2009. Sales tax is only calculated when a limousine run begins and ends in New York State. If a run begins or ends in Pennsylvania, sales tax is not required. Should a limousine run cross over into anothe state, but not begin or end in that state, sales tax will still apply. For example a run that begins in Elmira, NY and crosses Pennsylvania with a drop off in New York City, would require sales tax. Wedding Package A minimum three-hour wedding package includes complimentary soda, water, and champagne, red carpet, just married signs and professionally dressed driver, all fully insured. The three hours would be determined by you regarding how to use the time, but normally can shuttle the groom's party to the church, than pickup the bride's party and take them to the church, ceremony, photos, and drive time and than a final drop-off at the reception. Prom Package A minimum three-hour prom package includes complimentary soda, water, non-alcoholic-champagne, and professionally dressed driver, all fully insured. The three-hour package can have one split time for the prom itself. In short, we do not charge the time the kids are in the prom, so time can be divided before and after the prom. Split times are NOT available outside of the Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben County areas and NOT available in the Pennsylvania Area.
