WEMT International Module International travel is hot, but tourists are no longer satisfied with visiting famous cities with their museums and cafes. Instead, many people are looking for adventures in far-flung corners of the world far from the crowds. In addition, an increasing number of people are involved in humanitarian efforts, ranging from missionary trips to disaster relief. Introduced in 2005, SOLO's international curriculum is designed to meet the needs of ecotourists, adventure travelers, and others by focusing on the specific medical issues inherent in international travel: treating snakebite in South America, preventing Malaria in Southeast Asia, managing hypotherimia deep in the Alps, or treating dehydration in the extended care environment of Africa. Learning how to prepare for a trip abroad, how to prevent emergencies before they happen, and how to provide the best extended medical care when things go wrong far from home, makes every trip better and safer. The International Medicine Curricula is incorporated into the WEMT Module.

The Safari Medic Course is a 5-day, 40 hour, program designed by SOLO, based on experience working with Professional Guides and Professions Hunters. This course is specifically designed to provide safari expedition members with essential preventative and emergency care skills for the safari or wilderness environment.
