Change Management Ted has been working in the field of Change Management since the early 1990’s. While a doctoral student at The University of Texas at Austin, he interned at SEMATECH and helped in their dramatic reinvigoration of the USA-based semiconductor industry. Ted worked at IBM as an organization development consultant, adding value as a member of their change practice specialty area and as a facilitator for the renowned Accelerate-Change-Together programs. While at Advanced Micro Devices, Dr. Middelberg helped introduce change initiatives that ranged from institutionalizing leadership development in multiple divisions to addressing how to thrive in a highly turbulent environment. Most recently, Ted has been working with the largest real estate investment company in the US, Equity Office Properties Trust, to assist in addressing the human side of change as they revolutionize industry practices. Leadership Development With over 20 years of experience as a leader, Middelberg has been immersed in the challenges and satisfactions of first hand learning in fast-paced business positions ranging through the vice president rank. These real-work experiences have been bolstered through academic grounding, both at the MBA level and at the doctorate level. Ted’s concentration in a nationally ranked program at The University of Texas at Austin built on a leadership development core. These skills were applied to the benefit of IBM leaders, as Ted designed and orchestrated their prestigious Global Executive Program and served as a member of the international team that developed their manager leadership competency model. Further experience and skill was gained at AMD, where Ted led systemic and innovative leadership development efforts that were instrumental in AMD being recognized as one of the nation’s top 50 training organizations. Further, he was recognized by the 2002 Corporate Executive Board’s Learning and Development Roundtable Technology Series for best-in-class design on “Strategies for Delivering in the Moment of Need.” For the past several years, Ted has served as an adjunct faculty member in the Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership & Ethics program at St. Edward’s University, responsible for designing and teaching classes on leadership. Ethical Work Environments Ted has played a valuable role in the success of Austin’s Ethics-In-Business (EIB) award program. The EIB program, jointly sponsored by the Samaritan Center of Austin and St Edward’s University, critically evaluates the ethical business practices of nominated organizations in central Texas and draws attention to those firms that deserve special recognition.
