The Green Toad Inn is situated on 40 acres of forest, surrounded by 80 acres of government land, and adjacent to 90 acres of the privately owned North Star Tree Farm . Many walking trails are on the grounds of the Green Toad and on the Tree Farm, which has 35,000 plantation Christmas trees, four ponds, an organic commercial fruit orchard, and an old gold mine. It is a short 10-minute drive to the historic gold mining town of Georgetown, and just 20 minutes to downtown Placerville.
