VMA is a full-service public relations company with a track record of successfully establishing a positive image for our clients . From writing press releases to developing comprehensive PR campaigns, VMA constructs strategies to suit our clients’ needs.

VMA was started in 1996 by President Valerie Martinez , who had worked for several years as a news reporter, as Chief Consultant to the California Latino Legislative Caucus for the State Legislature, and later as a partner in The LJ Group public relations firm, based in Long Beach. VMA is a full-service communications firm, focusing primarily on community outreach, publications, governmental affairs and media relations.

Ms. Martinez, through her firm VMA Communications, provides strategic public affairs and community outreach expertise, packaging media management, government affairs, and technical infrastructure outreach for a variety of public agencies and private corporations. For more than 15 years, VMA has provided the political guidance to develop hundreds of public infrastructure projects that have strengthened the world of education, transportation, and water management throughout California.

Working to develop the first true high-speed rail system in the country, VMA is helping to transform transportation in the U.S. Since 2003, VMA has led the California High-Speed Rail Authority's communications effort in Southern California, while also providing critical outreach counsel with the establishment of the Authority's statewide Small Business Program. Through a massive, comprehensive communications program that includes stakeholder outreach, community engagement, coalition building and government affairs coordinated with regional transportation agencies, cities and MPOs throughout the region, VMA is working to help deliver the 800-mile statewide system, with trains running at 220 mph , which will connect all of California's urban centers.
